Updates:
February 4, 2010 - Happy Belated New Year! Wow, two months has gone by and I haven't gotten to update. Between the holidays, IchibanCon in in January, coming down with a sinus infection, and with being snowed in the past several days it has been an art-a-palooza around here! Tons of work posted; both the Illustration and Scraps sections got major updates with both new work and some things I'd forgot exsisted. Go check it out, and I hope you enjoy! I took a bit of a break yesterday to play some BioShock and update the site, so I'll be getting back into my art creation groove today. I look forward to having more for you all in the near
December 6, 2009 - Yes, I've been horrible at updating my site. However, I have 3 new original pieces in the illustration section for you guys this time around. Also did some house keeping and updated my resume as well now that I've passed my bartending exam and am fully certified. Trying to get my studio in full order still; my mom and I are going to be painting in the next week. I'll try to include pictures once it's done. Planning on going to Ichiban Con in Concord, NC in a month, and my 24th birthday is in 2 days. Wow lots to do and so little time! Time to kick it into turbo and get this bucket movin'!
October 21, 2009 - it's been sitting on my hard drive for a while now. A few new illustrationsa re up this time around. I was sick with Bronchitis a couple weeks ago, and must have forgotten completely during that time. Plus, I've been wrapped up in becoming wrapped up in my Mixology course. I could have sworn I'd posted this bit already, but now the art is there where you can enjoy it.
September 13, 2009 - I just couldn't help myself. Three new pieces of art are up in the Illustrations gallery.
September 10, 2009 - As I mentioned yesterday, the email has changed also. Was tired of not being able to access it or do much of anything with it really. While at the doctor and the Mac Store today I'm going to be doodling some, hopefully something that'll be worth throwing up here.
September 9, 2009 - Wow. Been a while hasn't it? This past quarter plus Dragon*Con was an eye opener. Obviously my computer's back. The problem? The graphics card when ka-put. Several changes this update: new art, new gallery, new blog, new blog, Twitter, new Deviant Art page, and all connected. Nothing major except creating and preparing for January of 2010. I've got big plans and big dreams so fasten your seat belts and join me for the ride!
In other news, my email address will probably be changing shortly as well. Need to streamline away any problems and that's been one of them.
June 21, 2009 - I'm really beside myself here. My computer's ka-put, so it's been sent off to the Apple Central Hub for fixing. Details listed in my old LJ blog of my adventure there. Hopefully, by the end of the week, things should go back to normal.
June 16, 2009 - Back in Savannah, GA. I found out a week ago that classes don't start until the 22nd. No matter, I figured I'd come down, unpack, take care of school-related paperwork, and relax.
Well, I was wrong. The drive down was a headache with all the rain, and that was just the tip of the iceburg. Friday the 12, my first full day back in Savannah, I was hit by a car. No worries, I'm fine. However, if you'd like to know some of the details, I have a journal entry posted on my older DA account as well as in my blog.
Oh a happier note, I'm doing a major update finally. The scraps section has lots of new content and I added the first of what I hope is many 'Fluff City' Mini Comics. Also, My resume' us biw posted and avalable for download for review. Alright folks, now that I have my drawing supplies back (silly me forgot them in North Carolina >_< ) I have a watercolor project to finish and pictures to finish for others!
June 4, 2009 - Home again. Working on various pieces for myself for once. I hope to have the prints ready for when I start making rounds at conventions. Dealing with lots of red tape with school after grades came back.
Gotta love drama. Sadly this may mean I won't be able to do freelance work as I once thought. :/
May 30, 2009 - Graduation today. Thing's are extremely hectic. I'll hopefully be able to get some new art up shortly. Glen Close was our guest speaker. It was rather epic and I cried. My concept maquette final got done, and everything is finishing up. Now there's just the summer to worry about and I'm offically done.
Here's some of the pictures. It was really a beautiful ceramony! Glen Close was an amazing speaker and seemed to have really spoken from her heart. It makes me wish I could have spoke to her in person. You can also see more photos taken here on SCAD's Flickr.
May 25, 2009 - Party's over much to my dismay. Back to class. Though I am a bit behind on where I wanted to bef or my work, I did get what was due done without a hitch. Let's just hope I live and make it to the 30th with everything completed. My maquette is the biggest worry. I'll be so happy when I waltz across that stage and have a moment's rest!
Also, a photographer from Indy Weekly in Raliegh, NC was at the con. Here's the artical. I'm #24 in the photos and #23 is my friend Dre Chapman. We're both dressed from the video game Team Fortress 2.
May 24, 2009 - Taking a moment at the RDU before my fight as I begin my journey back to Savannah, GA. The con was pretty awesome, though it was a bit of a drag that I didn't get to do anything on Friday. The events I participated in went swimmingly; the best yet! As usual, I took very few pictures. I almost posed the suggestion of the maid cafe“ at Animazement They loved it, and I simply hope that I won't end up running the event. That would be crazy.
We shall see. However, I'd love to have the made cafe“ at that con, and it would certainly be a major draw. Overall it would be something more individuals can enjoy and give lots of people to have the experience without being in California or Japan.
Ah! The plane's here! Gotta get ready to board!
May 22, 2009 - A few last pre-con preperations and then it's time to hit the road!
May 21, 2009 - Thanks to Ms. Lisa Hechesky and her skilled photography, earlier in the quarter I was able complete the Alton Brown celebrity maquette for my Concept Maquette Design class. Thus, because of my using her photography to complete my project, she wanted to feature me on her blog. Here's a link to the entry. I think it's really great of her to feature me on her site. It was a fun project and I learned a lot and it couldn't have been possible without her help. Thanks again Lisa!
In other news, things have been hectic. I didn't get into town last night until midnight, and work has been going slowly. All should be straightened out soon enough and the con itself is only a day away.
May 20, 2009 - Flew home yesterday. My motive, you ask? To visit family as well as go to Animazement in Raleigh, NC. Going to be dressing up as per usual and simply having a mini vacation while still panicking over finals. Quit the paradox I'd say. Then, next week, I have that last push before graduation.
May 14, 2009 - Two weeks of class left and counting. One week before the Con. Do me a favor and hit the air raid siren for me? If folks are interested in watching me work, then go to my live video stream and you can watch me. Usually, if I'm on, I'm usually working on my maquettes. Otherwise it's cartoons, movies, and other youtube videos. Later I'll probably make a channel devoted to this but I'll use my main stream in the meantime.
April 17, 2009 - Going live! Welcome to kdthompson.com!
